ABOUT US

Coatings work is becoming progressively more expensive with time. As such, ensuring the highest quality of coatings work and achieving the maximum effective service lives for new coating systems is cost effective over time for facility owners.  Through the right experience and because of the proper expertise, third party inspectors can efficiently enforce the quality requirements of the Standard Coatings Specifications, the Coating System Guidelines, and all referenced quality standards and other documents. This enforcement if properly achieved can prevent premature coating system failure and minimize contractual conflict between facility owners and coating contractors.

Superior's Approach

Our philosophical approach to every project is to first develop an understanding of the client's needs. This allows SCI to develop a detailed scope of services within our proposal to meet your goals and objectives. As we proceed through the inspection process, constant dialogue is maintained with the client and project team through project meetings, telephone calls and e-mail.

Superior's Coating Inspection practice focuses on specification adherence, Comprehensive Daily Inspection, Job Summaries, preparing maintenance programs to ensure longevity of the applied coating systems, assisting owners on how to best utilize maintenance dollars, coating condition assessments, specification writing, and failure analysis. Coating inspection can prevent problems that may occur during the application phase of a coating system. Having a NACE-Certified Coatings Inspector present during surface preparation and coating application can eliminate errors, saving valuable costs and time. A NACE-Certified Coatings Inspector documents weather conditions, surface temperatures, anchor profiles, substrate cleanliness, product batch numbers, PA2 dry film thickness readings, and detailed photography of each job phase.

Our staff is assisted by the latest in technological equipment.  Our equipment is manufactured by Elcometer Inc. an industry leader in coating inspection gauges and technology.  Daily reporting is documented digitally from the instruments to the inspection reports ensuring the accuracy of the data collected. After data collection is completed, all reports are reviewed for accuracy comparing site conditions with collected data.
